In 2002 and 2003, people crossing screenlines and cordons around the county by private vehicle were surveyed to identify their travel patterns. These surveys were undertaken as part of the Greater Manchester Area Transportation Surveys (GMATS), which included interviews with drivers of private vehicles on screenlines and cordons throughout Greater Manchester. A series of reports have been produced based on this data and can be found on this page.
