GMTU undertakes transport data analysis and research to support the development, appraisal and evaluation of transport policies, strategies and schemes throughout Greater Manchester on behalf of Greater Manchester’s District Councils, GMPTE and other clients

We also support the work of Greater Manchester’s Casualty Reduction Partnership, Traffic Accident Group and the Road Safety Team.

We maintain the road traffic casualty database, GMAXI, and other transport-related databases through which trends in casualties and travel are monitored.

We produce the annual Greater Manchester Road Casualty Statistics report, regular road casualty bulletins and bespoke analyses of road casualty data.

We also produce the annual Greater Manchester Transport Statistics report and 10 annual reports specifically for districts.
